Barton Eilts, CPA - CEO & Founder
After working for 10 years in the public accounting field, Bart Eilts started his own tax and business consulting company, Eilts & Associates, Inc., in 2000. Bart has served on the board of various local not-for-profit organizations and as the treasurer for River North Business Associates, Street-Level Youth Media, and the Lookingglass Theatre Company. He has a bachelor’s degree in accounting and business administration and became a Certified Public accountant in 1993. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society.
Bart has been asked to give presentations to groups regarding maximizing deductions for real-estate professionals, legal professionals, and individuals in the arts and entertainment industry. He also has spoken on tax topics such as retirement planning for closely held companies and the proper choice of entity for start-up businesses.
Ricardo Garcia, CPA - Senior Manager
Ricardo Garcia began his career in the accounting industry in 2000 at a mid-sized public accounting firm in downtown Chicago. Ricardo joined Eilts & Associates in 2002 and is currently a senior manager specializing in small business tax and consulting for closely held companies. He has a bachelor’s degree in accounting and became a Certified Public Accountant in 2003. Ricardo is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society.
Joy Coombes, CPA - Senior Manager
Joy Coombes joined Eilts & Associates in 2005 and has more than 20 years of experience in public and private accounting. Her areas of expertise include general accounting setup and systems, audits for not-for-profit organizations and private companies, taxation, consulting, and QuickBooks. Joy has a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance and a master’s in taxation; she became a Certified Public Accountant in 1993. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society.
